ช่วงนี้ที่ยังอยู่ในสถานการณ์น้ำท่วม เลยพานนึกถึงบรรดาสิงห์มอเตอร์ไซค์ที่ต้องขับขี่มอเตอร์ไซค์คู่กายลุยฝ่าพื้นที่น้ำท่วมกับเขาเหมือนกัน ซึ่งการดูแลรักษารถมอเตอร์ไซค์หลังจากที่ผู้ขับขี่ต้องผจญกับสภาวะน้ำท่วมนั้นก็ถือว่ามีความจำเป็นที่จะต้องดูแล และรักษาเพื่อให้รถของคุณมีอายุการใช้งานได้ยาวนาน

ระบบเบรก หลังจากที่ขับขี่รถลุยน้ำมาแล้ว น้ำจะเข้าไปอยู่ระหว่างหน้าสัมผัสของตัว ดรัมเบรกกับผ้าเบรก เมื่อนำรถไปขับขี่อีกครั้งจะทำให้เบรกไม่อยู่ การจอดทิ้งไว้สักพักไม่ได้ทำให้น้ำที่ค้างอยู่หายไป การแก้ไขที่ถูกต้องเมื่อขับลุยน้ำมาแล้ว ให้ขับขี่เป็นระยะทางสั้นๆ แล้วทำการเบรกหลายๆ ครั้ง เพื่อไล่น้ำให้ออกไปจากหน้าสัมผัสให้หมด ทางที่ดีที่สุดควรถอดผ้าเบรกออกมาทำความสะอาด ไล่น้ำ โดยการใช้ลมเป่าซึ่งจะทำให้ไล่น้ำออกไปอย่างรวดเร็วและหมดจด การย้ำเบรกหลายๆ ครั้ง ควรดูด้านหลังด้วยว่า มีรถตามมาหรือเปล่า และเมื่อเห็นว่าปลอดภัยแล้วจึงค่อยลงมือทำ

หัวเทียน
หัวเทียนนับว่ามีส่วนสำคัญไม่น้อย เมื่อขับรถลุยน้ำแล้วถึงที่หมาย ควรจะทำความสะอาดหัวเทียนโดยการถอดปลั๊กหัวเทียนออก หรือจะถอดหัวเทียนออกมาก็ได้แล้วใช้ลมเป่าเพื่อไล่น้ำ และความชื้นออกไปจากระบบ โดยเฉพาะในส่วนที่ลึกเช็ดเข้าไปไม่ถึง น้ำและความชื้นที่สะสมภายในระบบ จะทำให้เกิดสนิมบริเวณเหลี่ยมที่ขันหัวเทียน ทำให้การระบายความร้อน ที่เกิดจากการเผาไหม้ไม่สามารถทำได้อย่างเต็มที่ และทำให้การจุดระเบิดทำได้ไม่เต็มที่

น้ำมันเครื่อง
น้ำมันเครื่องอีกส่วนที่ต้องดูแลไม่แพ้ระบบอื่นๆ เมื่อผ่านการขับขี่ลุยน้ำมาแล้ว ถ้าไม่แน่ใจว่าจะมีน้ำเข้าไปในเครื่องหรือไม่ ให้สังเกตที่ช่องดูระดับ หรือเปิดฝาจุกเติมน้ำมันเครื่อง (รุ่นที่ไม่มีช่องดูระดับ) แล้วสังเกตที่ก้านวัดระดับน้ำมันเครื่องว่า น้ำมันเครื่องมีสีขาวขุ่นหรือไม่ ถ้ามีแน่ใจได้เลยว่ามีน้ำเข้าไปผสมกับน้ำมันเครื่องเรียบร้อยแล้ว วิธีการแก้ไขคือให้จัดการเปลี่ยนถ่ายน้ำมันเครื่องออกทันที หากปล่อยทิ้งไว้ สนิม และความชื้นต่างๆ ในระบบ จะทำให้เกิดความเสียหายต่อชิ้นส่วนของเครื่องยนต์ เพราะน้ำไม่มีหน้าที่ในการหล่อลื่นและปกป้องชิ้นส่วนของเครื่องยนต์

สาเหตุหลักที่ทำให้น้ำมันเครื่องเสื่อมสภาพได้ง่ายนั้นมีหลายปัจจัยโดยเฉพาะสิ่งที่ปนเปื้อนในน้ำมันหล่อลื่น เช่น ฝุ่นละออง, เขม่า, น้ำ, เชื้อเพลิง รวมถึงการใช้งาน ความร้อน ความกดดัน และปัจจัยต่างๆ

การขับขี่รถมอเตอร์ไซค์ลุยน้ำเป็นเวลานานๆ ผู้ขับขี่จะต้องดูแลและสนใจเป็นพิเศษหลังการใช้งานในแต่ละวัน ปริมาณการปนเปื้อนของน้ำในเครื่องยนต์เพียงเล็กน้อย อาจก่อให้เกิดความเสียหายต่อเครื่องยนต์ลดลง การดูแลรักษาจะช่วยให้รถของคุณสามารถใช้งานได้ตลอดเวลา ไม่ต้องเข้าร้านเพื่อทำการซ่อมแซม
